TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN

Wherever you go, life is full of surprises.

In the city or country something can cross your path suddenly.

In the mall or on the street, you have to pay attention.
You cannot afford to walk or drive into a situation.

TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN! Remember the bridge over that little dry creek you drive on each day is not the same animal during a flood. Even if the water is only up to the hubs on the vehicle you drive. The water level will flood your floorboards when you drive into it. Noone can show you. You have to find out for your self by looking at the vehicle wheel on the ground and the line of the floor board which is the bottom, front edge of your door.

Take care of yourself and the first responders won't be scuba divers.
Engage brain before putting your car in gear.

FLYING MUD

The best fun is like we used to do in the back country of Northwest Pennsylvania.

Of course, you didn't have a choice with roads like they were.

Back in the thirty's the road bed had logs laid side by side with gravel poured on that base.
It was called a corduroy road.

Flying mud and vibration were the hazards driving through there with a car. Kids sitting in the back seat would say, "Aahhh!" The sound reflected vibrations.

But today, I drove through a big mud puddle at the lake and sprayed mud everywhere.
Is a pity. The truck was so clean after the rain storm.

DIDN'T IT RAIN

Floods do happen all of a sudden.

We had over two inches of rain within a few hours.

Does it sink in that driving into raging water is not safe?
Hopefully people will not be in the wrong place at the wrong time when the water arises.

Didn't it rain for all to experience lightning and hail? Some in Hawaii have experienced hailing lava. There is a saying, "Into each life a little rain must fall." Just be very aware and keep your head up to watch around you.

HANG UP THE PHONE!
Distracted drivers kill, with or without a disaster.

OH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY

Good news about family is important to all.

Family members who are getting well or doing well.

It might even be the birth of a new family member.
The New Birth is even better.

Oh, what a beautiful day when I hear that my grandchild has success. Parents and Grandparents hope for the best, but the best doesn't always happen early in a person's life.

We all have to learn from others in and outside of our family.
Hopefully, someone will reach out to the one that you can't reach.

HELPFUL HINTS

Do you have air conditioning at your house or apartment?

Older a/c units on the output side are supposed to have insulation.

If there is a copper tube going into the building and it sweats, check to see if it is cold.
The cold, bare pipe insulation has worn out and needs to be replaced.

To fix the problem one needs the kid water toy, a tube. You can go to a hardware store and ask to see the commercial version. Then go to the local variety store and buy the tube. To make the fix, measure and cut the tube to the right length. You have to be very careful with your fingers and split the tube length-wise. Slide the tube on the pipe and secure with gray tape.

The simple fix could save you five to ten per cent on your cooling.
Keep cooler this summer.

WATCH OUT

Lately Oklahoma has had very hot weather.

It probably happens everywhere.

One season, whether it is extreme hot or cold, might change suddenly.
Some get what appears to be a reaction to allergies, others might run a fever.

Watch out for sudden symptoms. I have a site with links to health related issues. I also explain about heat stroke. It might be on the baby's page, but the incident is the same for adults. Look around in the FAMILY site. There are good references available there.

Extreme heat or cold are dangerous.
Take care of you and your family.
