FREEDOM IS

One thing sure is the character will return to habits.

Reflex action is normal.

When the character tries to change, the other characters try to keep them the same.
Whether it is a person who was framed, or one who did the crime, going straight is not easy.

Freedom is not always easy. Continual control or societal assumptions will destroy people. Sometimes from the inside out. Those who are representing a cultural myth are the most at risk. They believe their own PR.

Ego mania is the worst.
It can be the main character or the antagonist.

DIDN'T IT RAIN

I hope the people in the path of the hurricane remnants are safe.

Oklahoma City sure was flooded.

My truck was up to it's bumpers in water.
Glad it is high off the ground.

Didn't it rain? We have record rains this year. Many places need rain like Oklahoma did when we were in an eight year drought. Now our lakes and ponds are full.

Thanks be to the Lord!
Amen!

GET THE BOAT

A writer may take the stance that everything in the story is important.

But, if the extra information does not move the story forward, it must go.

It is like having a boat in the backyard.
Everything that you are not using ends up in the boat and blocks the trailer.

Get the boat bailed out. Along comes six inches of rain and the boat floats in your yard. Where is your reader going to sit in all the junk?

Rough illustration, but the reader must be able to track the story.
Keep the story path clear.

LONG LIFE AND CELEBRATIONS

What do your characters celebrate?

Like, "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we shall die!"

What is that?
I celebrate accomplishments.

Long life and celebrations should have substance. Others should relate to your thinking. Especially, if they are involved with the event. My husband and children were raised in Oklahoma. The state was always a little foreign to me. Pennsylvania is my 'homeland'.

But, today is the anniversary of my arrival in Oklahoma fifty two years ago.
Now I don't know that I would want to live anywhere else.

WHAT A BREAK IT IS

Did you ever have someone driving that had no respect for the road?

Hands on the wheel seems to be a very good rule for me.

Talk about singing!
The concert groups were SPECTACULAR!

What a break it is to come back home. In the middle of the night, actually about midnight, we were heading back to base and we discovered karaoke in the rv park. Of course, I had to sing. One fellow rented a karaoke company to play in his back lot. The whole neighborhood benefitted including me.

Medicine Park is a great place to be at any time.
I haven't met so many nice people in one place in a very long time.
